The Horse Box

The Horse Box was originally on the back of a van. Roundhill Shepherd Huts purchased the unit in 2018 with the idea to take it off the van chassis and constructing a heritage style wagon with their unique style.

This was a side project which is why it has taken so long to complete. Many of its original features have been retained including the rear lamp which is now a substantial deck.

Specification

The wheels are 0.6 metre steel sitting on a solid axel (with no bearing). The chassis is sawn + treated pine. The steering lock is of the traditional cart style. The Horse Box itself is made of pressed steel with a glass fibre roof and aluminium floor pan.

Floor, ceiling and walls are insulated with 40 mm celotex and panelling is of light ply construction. The floor is made of reclaimed Victorian floor planks. There are two ceiling lights and 4 double sockets linked to an R.C.D consumer unit.

The windows are reclaimed 1930's leaded lights and the feature stained glass window is Victorian. The door is also reclaimed of undetermined age.

This is a blank space and would make an ideal garden office craft studio, children's play room or any other spare room use.

Due to it being on wheels it is exempt from planning regulations.

The steps are constructed from larch and have an anti skid surface.
